Full Control

Tomorrow will be the first day I have full control of my preschoolers. I am excited, but also nervous. They are a handfull and I think it is going to be a challenge to control them. I am starting my unit about healthy eating and we will be looking at the different food groups on the pyramid throughout the week. Wednesday we have a half day and after school the teachers are going to a movie and dinner. I love the sense of community and family at this school. All the teachers respect each other and from what I have seen enjoy hanging out with each other. I hope we all can find a school someday that puts the students first and knows the importance of community.
Last week was Catholic Schools Week. I attended mass 2 times. Do not worry, I have not converted yet! :) The kids were allowed to wear pajamas on Monday and it was fun to see all there cute little pajamas. Tuesday we went to the local Catholic high school and attended a mass. It was way too long and some of my students decided to make use of the time by sleeping. I could not blame them! Wednesday we have an early release and the staff had to attend mass with all the other teachers from the local schools. Needless to say by the end of that mass I was all massed out. Thursday was my favorite day. The entire school went sledding in the afternoon. The kids had a great time and my back was soar from having to pull them and push them down the hills. Friday we had an assembly where each grade presented a little skit about why they love Holy Family. My class, along with the Kindergarten class, did going on a bear hunt. They were a bit scared, but overall they did a great job.
I hope you are all doing well in your student teaching endeavors. Wish you the best and until next time.....
